11:12 pm - It's the ghost of elections past!
|
Or it's just me. :D Sorry I haven't been around since like.. January. Lol... I took a much need break from LJ and online stuff. Still was able to get online from time to time to approve messages, but other than that, nada.
Anyway... with everything that's been happening, I've gotten sucked back into the online world of "debates". Lol. I wish I came back earlier because I missed the whole Cindy Shenanigan (ha ha, get it?). But I'm just in time for the Hurricane and for Chief Justice Reinquist (R.I.P).
Let me know if there's anything I can do for you. I promised myself two hours of online time to do absolutely nothing (ie: debate) a week. I shall use it well.

Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 5.12 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.15
Eh, I'm right in between Libertarian and Authoritarian in regards to social issues. Seems correct enough.

http://www.nationalreview.com/moore/moore200408191201.asp - Debunking the Class Warfare Myth. Rich are paying more with the Bush tax cut than without.
Republican celebrities are really different than their liberal counterparts. Take for instance all the 'punk' bands who are a part of the Vote for Change tour or Warped or Whatever or even Alec Baldwin and Jeanne Garfalo (whatever again). While people pay to see them play music and/or promote their new movie, what patrons really get are anti-Bush messages. They paid for the music or turned on the TV, not see or hear anti-Bush sentiment.
Now you get someone like Luis Gonzalez - Arizona's golden boy, Bush supporter. Does he take the mike during the National Anthem to tell everyone how horrible John Kerry is? Nope. He goes to a Bush rally and introduces our wonderful President. Does he take one jab at Kerry? No again. He's focused on the positives of G-Dub.
Gonzalez knows that he's not a professional when it comes to political commentary. He's a ball player, he gets payed to play baseball. He may have strong opinions about politics, but he doesn't voice them publicly because he knows that he's a public figure and has a hold on certain people. He respects people's rights to make decisions based on their own opinions and analysis, not his. Can I say the same about liberal celebrities? Nope, not really.

12:27 am - Interview by mindstalked. Thanks!
|
1. Do you think it was necessary for Kentucky Fried Chicken to officially change its name to KFC? No. I still call it Kentucky Fried Chicken and will continue doing so.
2. What is your favorite comedy-genre movie? Right now, ANCHORMAN! It's soooo funny. Couldn't stop laughing.
3. Who's hotter, Jenna or Barbara Bush? Barbara.
4. If you had a son right now, what would you name him? Cole. For some reason, I like that name.
5. When you become senator, what issue will you find most important to your state? Energy conservation. I think that by the time I get to be senator, a lot of issues will be resolved. But Arizona is growing at a quick pace and its resources are not keeping up. Immigration will hopefully be solved by then, as well as education. In twenty years, Arizona will become like California now. That's my prediction at least.
1 -- Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed. 2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions. 3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers. (or just answer here.) 4 -- You'll include this explanation. 5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed
Oh, those of you who are on my friends list will have a REALLY big treat tomorrow. It's awesome, I promise. So friend me now if you wanna see. ;)

11:48 pm - Icons :)

I went to see "I, Robot" tonight. It's actually pretty good. Like a mix of the Matrix, the Terminator, and A.I.
I think after watching so many movies about robots, I'm totally freaked out. I don't think I could ever have a robot in my house or where I work. There's just something that you can't trust. I think it was Arthur Weasley from Harry Potter that said "don't ever trust anything if you can't see where it keeps its heart" ... or something to that effect.
Isn't it ironic how we have all these movies warning us about the dangers of robots and advanced technology, yet we still keep developing them?

Goodness, I haven't posted in this in a loooong while. I just haven't had anything really relevant to say.
Because I am extremely bored, I will make icons for anyone who comes to this journal. :) Just give me your request and I'll do make em for you.

OMG.. I LOVE PROTEST WARRIOR!
I've been to their site numerous times before but they updated with Operation Wolverine. I'm watching it now and it's awesome.
The anti-war protestors are just plain dumb. They couldn't come up with anything substantial so they tore down PW's posters. And they have the audacity to complain about freedom of speech???
I'm not as gutsy as PW to go into the eye of the storm; I admire PW greatly. They're just so awesome.
Another question, why is it that anti-war protestors feel the need to cover up their faces? I realize that they look like pure stupidity, but after being so far gone, why hide it? It's not like it's a secret.

I'm not usually an angry person but this really pisses me off. I make icons with the intent that they will go towards promoting GWB. So when some idiot takes my icon and turns it into an anti-Bush one, I get mad.
Case in point.
Excuse my language,but what a bitch@$#!@$#@!#$
Edit: Yay! She took it down. :)

Sometimes I wonder why conservatives are so quiet. I'm not saying we should be the tree hugging protest happy hippies but at least we could be more vocal in our beliefs. Maybe there's a reason why we're inherently more intellectual, thus more silent?. I keep seeing The National Review articles but I have not seen a comparable liberal magazine. Is the pen mightier than the protest sign?
Maybe it's because I'm young and I can understand the attention span of America better than conservatives can. Americans don't want to read or to think, catchy slogans do all the thinking they need. But as conservatives, we're much better than that.
Honestly though, you can't list all the reasons why Kerry would be a bad president on one sign.
